Early Childhood Special Education

During the semester in which the student was enrolled 2 of the 3 required student teaching experiences, a student teaching seminar was required. This seminar provided weekly contact between the student and faculty supervisor/instructor. The seminar and the student teaching experiences were taken after successful completion of all College, Department and ECSE course requirements.

Early (SPED 220) and continuous goal oriented fieldwork (SPED 403, 421, and 460) was required prior to student teaching. This practice reflected the ECSE program commitment to the importance of “Learning by Doing”.
